You’ve just had to fire a new employee, one you really had hopes for. You did everything you could to make it work, you gave them every opportunity to succeed. You just couldn’t find a way to make it work. Worse, you only just hired them 7 weeks ago!
The average bad hire costs a company $25,000-50,000, or more if it’s a highly compensated individual, and for any company, especially a small one, that loss hurts.
Ultimately a bad hire can damage your culture, negatively impact other employee’s morale and productivity, and can be emotionally devastating for both you and the person you have to fire.
You don’t need to make this mistake, you don’t need to be caught in this vicious cycle.

A Story:
Patricia, a software development team lead, did everything right in her interviews, or so she thought. Each candidate she interviewed had qualities she loved and skills that seemed necessary for the job she had to hire for. Inevitably she was rushing in to conduct the interviews and took hasty notes. Her goal was to send the qualified candidates on for their final interviews. According to the Director of Development her success was hit or miss.
She took the ISW and settled into a process that allowed her to get centered for her interviews, gather information that gave her better data in which to compare candidates to one another, and could make more informed decisions about who moved on.
